• The panel sticks or skips in the track. This is almost always tandem roller wear. ViewLux rollers use a sealed bearing that South Florida humidity eventually breaches; once grit enters, the bearing races pit and the roller develops flat spots. • The lock thumb-turn rotates but the hook bolt doesn’t engage. The VL-series mortise lock uses a zinc alloy gearbox that fatigues at the cam interface. DIY or Call Us?

There is one safe owner check: open the door six inches, grip both sides of the active panel, and lift straight up. The adjustment screws are accessible from the bottom rail - a 5/32 hex key, turned clockwise to raise. If this doesn’t eliminate the play, the roller bearings are shot.

We do not recommend owner replacement of the tandem roller assembly.
